Revisional Double Eyelid Surgery

I had my double eyelid surgery in September of 2015 and initially, I was quite happy with the results, as I talked about in my YouTube video. However, as the swelling went away, I noticed that my left eye remained "sleepier" than my right and that my creases were becoming non-existent again. I wanted to be upset at the clinic for not making my dream eyes, but I am a realistic person and I also understand that my original base was difficult to work with. I was also very happy with my epicanthoplasty results. I don't think they botched my eyes at all, but I knew some improvements could be made. That's why I decided it to give them another chance rather than finding a new clinic altogether.

My eyes around six months post-op after my first surgery
I continued to contact S.one Plastic Surgery for a few months prior to my trip to Korea in 2016 to talk to them about my concerns. The consultant reassured me that a free revision was possible, but obviously, I would have to consult with the doctor first. I spent a few months trying not to obsess over whether I would have to pay or not!
I finally arrived in Korea at the end of April and the doctor was able to see my eyes in real life. I had gained 10 kg (!!!) within the past not-even-a-year, and the doctor said that my eyelids had become quite fatty again even though he took out fat during my first surgery. Also, the ptosis correction had not failed completely because I do not have to use my eyebrows as much to lift my eyelids anymore. However, a side effect of ptosis correction is that the space between the eyebrows and eyes become smaller, making the eyelids look puffier than they are. Dr. Noh told me that in my case, an eyebrow or a forehead lift would help with this. That was news I was hoping NOT to hear. I'm still very young, I hadn't saved enough money for a bigger procedure like that, and I was generally not interested in doing anything other than the surgeries I had already planned for. Dr. Noh told me he could make my crease a bit higher and to re-correct my ptosis, but my dream eyes would be impossible. Although I was disappointed, I accepted that fact and booked my surgery for the following week.
NOTE: In Korea, it is normal to pay a fee for sedation even if the revision itself is free. I had to pay 150,000 won for sedation.
I mentioned before that my first surgery was painless. This time, it definitely hurt! The sedation made me more emotionally sensitive and I cried throughout the surgery. I think it was more painful because they had to remove my existing stitches in my eyelids and I may have needed more local anesthesia. In hindsight, I'm happy that Dr. Noh did not give me more local anesthesia because my friends who had more added in during the surgery were very swollen after. In comparison, I deswelled extremely quickly.
Right now, I am almost one month post-op. I still have uneven swelling, with my left eye having an in-out fold and my right eye having an in-fold. I think the doctor over-corrected my left crease as the eye was originally smaller than my right. I can only hope that my eyes will become more even and remain bright when the swelling goes away.
